IIT Roorkee Alumna Vinita Gupta Becomes First Indian-Origin Woman to Lead a Public Offering in Silicon Valley

Vinita Gupta, an alumna of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first woman of Indian origin to take her own company public in Silicon Valley. Gupta holds engineering degrees from IIT Roorkee and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

In 1985, she founded Digital Link Corporation, a telecommunications company that played a crucial role in the development of connectivity solutions. The company made its debut on the Nasdaq stock exchange in 1994, representing a notable achievement in Guptas entrepreneurial career.
