Amin Hajee, renowned for his role as Bagga, the temple drummer in the acclaimed 2001 sports drama “Lagaan,” recently attended a celebratory event marking the films anniversary, organized by Aamir Khan Productions in Mumbai. Accompanied by his wife, Charlotte Whitby-Coles, and their daughters, Hajee took the opportunity to reflect on the film’s enduring legacy and his personal journey.

During the event, Amin shared that his first encounter with Charlotte occurred on the sets of “Lagaan.” Their initial meeting, characterized by an unexpected connection, ultimately developed into a lasting partnership. “Lagaan,” directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, received critical acclaim upon its release and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, making it one of Indias iconic cinematic achievements.
