Opposition LDF Leaves Assembly, Citing Government Inaction on Disease Control

Keralas Health Minister, Veena George, recently criticized the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government for a lack of adequate measures in disease prevention, particularly in sanitation and cleaning initiatives earlier this year when they were in power.

Minister George emphasized the importance of proactive health measures and insisted that the previous administration had opportunities to improve public health standards but failed to act effectively. She pointed to the ongoing challenges faced by the state in managing diseases, which could have been mitigated through better planning and execution of health programs.

The criticism comes in the context of recent health campaigns initiated by the current government, aimed at enhancing hygiene and sanitation in various communities. This approach reflects Kerala’s commitment to maintaining public health, especially during the monsoon season when water-borne diseases are more prevalent.

The remarks have prompted discussions among political analysts regarding the effectiveness of health policies and their implementation across different administrations in Kerala. The state continues to focus on improving health infrastructure and community awareness to combat the spread of diseases.
