BWSSB Chairperson Urges Officials to Prepare for Potential Water Shortages in Bengaluru
N. Manjula, Chairperson of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), convened a meeting with officials to discuss the current water levels at the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) reservoir. During the discussions, she underscored the importance of managing the water resources effectively, especially in light of the regions ongoing water supply challenges.
The KRS reservoir is a crucial water source for Bangalore and surrounding areas, with its capacity significantly impacting local water supply. Recent weather patterns and rainfall have influenced water storage levels, prompting BWSSB to evaluate the reservoirs status regularly. Manjulas focus on prudent utilization reflects the boards aim to ensure a sustainable supply of water for both domestic and agricultural needs, especially as the demand fluctuates with the changing seasons.
