Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs Scheduled to Meet Lok Sabha Speaker Regarding Merger of Six Leaders with Shinde Faction

The Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction of the Shiv Sena has raised concerns regarding the transparency of the recent inclusion of six Members of Parliament (MPs) into the ruling faction led by Eknath Shinde. In light of these concerns, the UBT has formally submitted a letter to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, requesting a hearing on the matter.

This development comes amid ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra, particularly following the split of the Shiv Sena party last year. The UBT faction has been vocal in its criticism of the Shinde-led government, questioning the legitimacy of certain political maneuvers and party alignment shifts. The partys call for a hearing aims to shed light on the process and circumstances surrounding the MPs defection, which they argue lacks sufficient accountability.

Historically, the Shiv Sena has been a significant player in Maharashtras political landscape, known for its strong regional identity and advocacy for the Marathi-speaking population. The challenges it faces today highlight ongoing divisions within Maharashtras political parties and the complexities of coalition governance in the state.
