AGICL Seeks International Proposals for Amaravati Riverfront Master Plan in Preparation for Krishna Pushkaralu 2028
A 27-kilometer riverfront development project is underway, stretching from Undavalli to Vykuntapuram, and it will feature seven islands designed to enhance the areas ecology and attract tourism. A pilot section of the project, located at Uddandirayunipalem, is scheduled for completion prior to the Pushkaralu festival in 2028, a significant religious event that draws numerous pilgrims and visitors.
The Pushkaralu festival, which occurs every 12 years, is an important occasion for devotees who believe that bathing in sacred rivers during this time will cleanse them of sins and bring blessings. The development aims not only to beautify the riverfront but also to improve local infrastructure and amenities for residents and tourists alike. This initiative reflects a broader effort to promote sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship in the region.
