MDU Positioned to Address Challenges in Delhi-NCR, Says Lt Gen T.S. Sandhu

Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu has encouraged Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) to position itself as a leading center for research-driven solutions addressing the challenges faced by the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). Speaking during a recent engagement, Sandhu emphasized the importance of fostering industry collaboration and innovation that is directly relevant to real-world problems.

Highlighting MDUs advantageous location in the NCR, the Lieutenant Governor recommended that the university prioritize key research areas such as biosciences, renewable energy, healthcare, pollution control, and agriculture. These sectors are critical for enhancing the quality of life and sustainability in the densely populated region.

In his remarks, Sandhu praised the universitys commitment to sustainability, particularly noting its green campus initiatives. He expressed optimism about MDUs potential to achieve international recognition through impactful research contributions.

Vice-Chancellor Milap Punia also spoke at the event, detailing the universitys past achievements and outlining a roadmap for future research endeavors aimed at addressing local and global challenges. MDU is already recognized for its emphasis on education, with a strong track record in various academic disciplines, making it well-positioned to tackle the pressing issues in the Delhi-NCR area.
