Rajnath Singh Introduces DFP-2026 to Accelerate DRDOs Defence Research and Development Initiatives

Mr. Singh announced that the newly revised framework aims to expedite the production and integration of systems, platforms, and technologies developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) into the armed forces. This initiative is expected to enhance the operational readiness and efficiency of Indias military capabilities.

The revised framework includes streamlined processes for procurement, testing, and deployment of defense technologies. By reducing bureaucratic hurdles, the government seeks to ensure quicker delivery timelines for advanced military resources. This move aligns with the broader objective of self-reliance in defense manufacturing, as outlined in Indias Defence Production Policy.

The DRDO has been pivotal in developing indigenous technologies, contributing to various sectors, including missile systems, aerospace, and electronic warfare. With the new framework in place, defense officials anticipate a more robust collaboration between the DRDO and the military, facilitating the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that are critical for national security.
