Commercial LPG Cylinder and Aviation Turbine Fuel Prices Decrease as West Asia Conflict Subsides

On July 1, 2026, public sector oil-marketing companies (OMCs) announced a reduction in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders, marking a significant shift in the LPG supply landscape following the resolution of the four-month-long conflict in West Asia. The price of commercial LPG cylinders has been lowered by ₹183.5, while the price of 5 kg free trade LPG (FTL) cylinders has decreased by ₹13.

This move represents the first decrease in the cost of commercial LPG in 2026, after a series of price hikes that cumulatively increased the cost by ₹1,345 per refill in four separate increments since March 7 of this year. The price adjustments come as the market stabilizes and supply chains recover post-conflict, which had raised concerns over the availability and costs of LPG in the region.

Industry analysts suggest that the reduction in prices may boost domestic consumption as well as provide relief to businesses relying on commercial LPG for their operations. Moving forward, OMCs are expected to closely monitor global crude oil prices and supply chain conditions to inform future pricing strategies.
