PM Modi and Japanese PM to Inaugurate Maruti Suzukis Fourth Manufacturing Plant in Haryana

Today, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japans Minister for Economic and Fiscal Policy, Sanae Takaichi, will formally inaugurate Maruti Suzukis latest manufacturing facility located in Kharkhoda, Haryana. This event marks a significant collaboration between India and Japan in the automotive sector.

The new plant is part of Maruti Suzukis broader strategy to enhance its production capabilities in India. With an investment of approximately ₹35,000 crore, the facility is expected to bolster the Indian automobile industry and create numerous job opportunities in the region.

This inauguration is a culmination of ongoing cooperation between the two nations in areas such as manufacturing, technology sharing, and economic growth. Maruti Suzuki, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has been a cornerstone of the Indian automotive market since its inception and stands as one of the largest car manufacturers in the country.

The Kharkhoda facility is anticipated to enhance the production capacity of Maruti Suzuki, enabling the company to meet the growing demand for vehicles in both domestic and international markets. This investment is part of a larger trend where global automobile manufacturers are increasingly tapping into Indias vast market potential, aided by favorable government policies and initiatives to boost local manufacturing.

As part of this event, both leaders are expected to discuss further economic collaborations and the impact of this new plant on the local economy. The ceremony will also highlight the importance of foreign investment in India and the strengthening of bilateral relations between India and Japan.
