Manipur Chief Minister Delivers ₹1 Lakh Assistance to 26 Chronically Ill Internally Displaced Persons

Residents of the Lamboikhongnangkhong relief camp in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, have been residing there since May 2023, when ethnic tensions between the Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities escalated into conflict. As a result of the disruptions caused by the violence, many individuals at the camp are facing serious health challenges, including kidney ailments, cancer, and various other medical conditions.

The relief camp was established to provide temporary shelter and support for those displaced by the ongoing violence, which has resulted in significant loss of life and property. As of now, it is estimated that thousands of individuals have sought refuge in such camps across the region. Local and state authorities, along with non-governmental organizations, are working to address the urgent health and humanitarian needs of the affected populations, but challenges remain due to resource constraints and ongoing tensions in the area.
