Cloud Seeding Initiated in Haveri Funded by Six MLAs
In response to the limited rainfall experienced this monsoon season, six Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from the district have united to offer financial support for artificial rain-making initiatives. This collaborative effort aims to address the adverse effects of the insufficient monsoon, which may have significant implications for agriculture, water supply, and local livelihoods.
The MLAs are advocating for the implementation of cloud seeding technology, which involves dispersing substances into the atmosphere to encourage precipitation. Such initiatives are particularly important in drought-prone areas where water scarcity can severely impact crop yields and water availability for communities.
The legislative representatives are also expected to engage with local authorities and agricultural experts to assess the situation and establish a strategic approach to ensure effective use of resources. Stakeholders anticipate that these measures may assist in mitigating the adverse impacts of the current weather patterns, ultimately helping to support local farmers and residents facing challenges due to the dry conditions.
