PMK MLAs Hold Meeting with WRD Minister N. Anand

Dr. Anbumani has called on the State government to prioritize the implementation of 12 critical water management projects. He emphasized the importance of investing approximately ₹1 lakh crore in these initiatives over the next decade, despite acknowledging the financial constraints currently faced by the State.

Access to adequate water resources is increasingly critical as the population grows and climate change exacerbates existing water shortages. Effective water management projects could enhance water supply, improve infrastructure, and promote sustainable usage. This investment is anticipated to not only address current water-related challenges but also to secure long-term sustainability for agricultural, industrial, and domestic water needs.

The proposed projects might include advancements in water conservation techniques, infrastructure for irrigation, rainwater harvesting systems, and wastewater treatment facilities. Dr. Anbumanis recommendations may align with broader regional and national goals aimed at improving water security and management practices.
