Andhra Pradesh Unveils Action Plan to Promote Palm-Based Products

Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra announced ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting products like Neera and palm jaggery. The minister indicated that these efforts also include a request for the Central Government’s support in establishing a dedicated Palm Board.

The initiative to promote Neera, a popular traditional drink made from the sap of palm trees, along with palm jaggery, which is a natural sweetener, seeks to boost local agriculture and provide additional income sources for farmers in the region. Establishing a Palm Board could facilitate regulation, development, and marketing of palm products, thereby benefiting rural economies.
