US Approves Large Space Mirror Project to Generate Solar Light, Amid Astronomers Safety Concerns

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved a proposal by Reflect Orbital to create a 60-foot space-based mirror designed to direct sunlight onto specific areas on Earth. This innovative project, named Earendil-1, aims to illuminate regions up to three miles in diameter, providing sunlight on demand.
