EPFO introduces one-time amnesty scheme for exempted PF trusts following portal update

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a one-time Amnesty Scheme specifically designed for exempted Provident Fund Trusts. This initiative aims to facilitate establishments in regularizing their compliance status in accordance with the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.

Eligible employers participating in this program may benefit from retrospective exemptions and are encouraged to address any outstanding compliance issues. The scheme not only provides relief from ongoing litigation but also waives specific compliance requirements, thereby easing the burden on employers striving to meet legal obligations.

Employers interested in taking advantage of this opportunity can submit their applications until the end of December 2023. This amnesty initiative is part of the EPFO’s broader efforts to enhance compliance among exempted trusts, promote financial discipline, and ensure the welfare of employees covered under the provident fund system.
