Assam DHE Requires SAMARTH Portal for NEP 2020 Student Migration and Lateral Entry
The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) in Assam has instituted a new policy requiring all student migrations to be conducted exclusively through the SAMARTH Portal. This mandate applies to all state universities and colleges and takes effect immediately.
The introduction of the SAMARTH Portal is aimed at ensuring a more transparent and efficient process for implementing the provisions outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The use of this online platform will facilitate various administrative tasks related to student migration, including lateral entry options.
Additionally, the DHE has made it clear that any migrations conducted through offline or manual methods will not be recognized and will not be considered for academic or administrative purposes. This policy seeks to streamline the migration process, improve data accuracy, and enhance students access to educational opportunities as stipulated by the NEP 2020.
The SAMARTH Portal is designed to support not only student migration but also various other educational management functions, which are essential for both students and educational institutions in adapting to the evolving landscape of higher education in India.
