Investment Scope in India Expanded

Temasek Holdings, Singapores state investment company, is expanding its investment strategy in India to include a greater focus on industrial sectors and artificial intelligence (AI). Traditionally known for investing in more conventional sectors, the firm is now actively seeking opportunities that leverage emerging technologies and industrial advancements.

As of March 2026, Temaseks portfolio in India has seen substantial growth, amounting to approximately $42 billion. This significant increase reflects the firm’s confidence in Indias potential as a robust investment destination.

Looking ahead, Temasek has set ambitious goals for its investment strategy, aiming to double its capital deployment in India within the next three years. Furthermore, the firm plans to increase its exposure to artificial intelligence-related investments to 15% by 2031. This move underscores Temasek’s commitment to aligning its investments with the rapidly evolving technological landscape and the increasing importance of AI in various industries.

Temaseks strategy appears to be in response to Indias growing emphasis on innovation and technology-driven growth, as well as its efforts to transition towards a more industrialized and tech-savvy economy.
