Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the establishment of a new task force aimed at reforming the National Testing Agency (NTA) examinations. The task force will be led by Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys and former chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This initiative is part of the governments ongoing effort to enhance the transparency and efficiency of the examination process across various competitive exams in India.
The NTA, which was established in 2017, is responsible for conducting entrance examinations for higher education institutions in India. The task force will likely focus on modernizing testing methods and addressing concerns over examination integrity, including the prevention of paper leaks and ensuring a fair assessment for all candidates.

The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has condemned the formation of the task force, arguing for the abolition of the NTA instead.
