Indias Crude Oil Imports from Russia Expected to Reach 3 Million Barrels Per Day

Indian refiners are expected to maintain a crucial supply buffer through Saudi Arabias East-West (Yanbu) pipeline, which has been delivering approximately 300,000 to 500,000 barrels per day of crude oil. This supply is contingent on the stability of shipping routes through the Red Sea.

The Yanbu pipeline, which runs from the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia to the port city of Yanbu on the western coast, provides an alternative route for crude oil transportation. It is strategically important for diversifying supply sources and mitigating disruptions in maritime shipping.

Recent geopolitical tensions and fluctuations in oil supply chains have heightened the focus on land-based oil transport options. Should shipping through the Red Sea remain uninterrupted, Indian refiners are likely to benefit from a steady inflow of crude oil, assisting in meeting domestic demand and supporting refining operations.
