Akshay Reveals John Was Nervous About Returning Garam Masala Fee While Doing Comedy

In a recent interview, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar shared an interesting anecdote regarding his co-star John Abrahams experience while filming the 2005 comedy “Garam Masala.” Kumar revealed that Abraham faced significant challenges during production, particularly with the comedic scenes, which led him to consider withdrawing from the film. He reported that Abraham was so overwhelmed that he even offered to forfeit his acting fee. Fortunately, director Priyadarshan intervened and helped to alleviate Abrahams concerns, allowing him to continue with the project.

Additionally, Priyadarshan addressed longstanding rumors that Akshay Kumar had a hand in shortening Abrahams screen time, labeling those claims as unfounded. “Garam Masala” went on to become a commercial success, known for its humorous take on relationships and its ensemble cast, which included Paresh Rawal and Tanaaz Irani.
