Stock rises 3% as brokerages maintain positive outlook following Q1 report.
Mahindra & Mahindra Reports Strong Q1 Performance Amid Market Optimism
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported a 34% increase in net profit for the first quarter, reaching ₹5,455 crore, while revenues rose by 28%. This impressive performance has led to increased bullish sentiment among brokerages, with CLSA identifying M&M as a top auto stock pick, contributing to a subsequent rise of the companys shares by over 4% in the stock market.
In addition to the strong financial results, M&M has acknowledged rising commodity inflation that is impacting profit margins but remains committed to expanding its electric vehicle (EV) capacity. The company plans to double its electric SUV production over the next five years in response to growing demand for sustainable transportation options.
Analysts are optimistic about M&Ms future growth prospects, especially as the automotive sector continues to rebound following pandemic-related challenges. Nomura has also expressed a favorable outlook, suggesting sustained strength in demand could position M&M for further financial benefits in the coming fiscal years.
The bullish responses from the market come amidst a broader recovery trend in India’s automotive sector, which is displaying robust sales figures as consumer confidence rises.
