Seven SUVs to be Launched Over the Next 5-6 Years, Production Capacity Increased by 500,000 Units

Maruti Suzuki Plans Significant Growth in SUV Segment and Manufacturing Capacity

Maruti Suzuki has announced ambitious plans to launch seven new SUVs within the next five to six years, aimed at capturing a larger share of the growing sport utility vehicle market in India. In addition to its new product offerings, the company will also increase its manufacturing capacity by 500,000 units to support this expansion.

According to RC Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, the small car market in India is projected to experience a faster growth rate compared to the last five years. This positive outlook corresponds with broader trends in the passenger vehicle sector, which Maruti anticipates will rise to an estimated 6.3 million units by 2031.

Bhargava also emphasized the need for reforms to facilitate easier business operations within the automotive industry, highlighting that such changes could significantly support manufacturers in meeting growing customer demands.

As competition intensifies in the automobile market, Maruti Suzuki is positioning itself strategically by diversifying its vehicle lineup and enhancing production capabilities. The companys focus on SUVs reflects a global trend where consumers are increasingly opting for larger vehicles, which offer more space and features.

By revisiting its long-term targets, Maruti aims to adjust to the evolving market landscape and consumer preferences. As the demand for passenger vehicles rises, the companys proactive approach may solidify its leadership in the Indian automotive sector.
