Noida Schools Directed to Limit Smart Board Usage to 30 Minutes for Primary Students
The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has implemented new guidelines for schools in Noida and Greater Noida in response to concerns raised by parents regarding excessive screen time among students. Effective immediately, the use of smart and digital boards in primary classes is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes per day. For upper-primary students, the screen time limit has been set at 60 minutes daily.
These measures are aimed at addressing rising concerns about the impact of prolonged screen exposure on young learners health and well-being. In addition to restricting screen time, the administration has encouraged schools to incorporate breaks throughout the school day, promote traditional teaching methods, engage students in outdoor activities, and ensure that routine eye check-ups are conducted.
This initiative aligns with growing awareness of the potential effects of excessive digital device usage on childrens physical and mental health, especially in light of the increasing integration of technology in educational environments. The administrations focus appears to be on fostering a balanced approach to learning that prioritizes the physical and cognitive development of students while still utilizing beneficial technological tools in moderation. As schools begin to implement these guidelines, it will be important to monitor the effects on both educational outcomes and student well-being.
