Telangana Electoral Roll Update: 73.39 Lakh Voters Dropped in Draft Rolls

The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana has released the latest draft electoral rolls, revealing significant changes ahead of upcoming elections. Approximately 73.39 lakh voters have been excluded from the draft rolls, while around 92 lakh individuals will be issued notices regarding their electoral status. This rollout is part of the states ongoing efforts to ensure accurate electoral representation.

The enumeration process has faced scrutiny due to issues reported during the verification phase, which left 94 lakh electors reliant on the actions of 119 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). Activists and opposition parties have raised concerns about the reliability of the enumeration process, calling for a 15-day extension before the publication of the final draft to address these discrepancies.
