Cabinet Approves Four Railway Multitracking Projects Valued at Rs 9,450 Crore Across Four States
The Union Cabinet has approved five major infrastructure projects with a total investment exceeding ₹13,000 crore. Notably, four of these projects involve the multitracking of railway lines, which will collectively expand the railway network by 410 kilometers. This initiative aims to alleviate congestion on existing routes and enhance freight transportation across several states.
In addition to the railway initiatives, the Cabinet has also sanctioned an upgrade project for a segment of National Highway 22 (NH-22) in Bihar. This project will focus on improving an 82-kilometer stretch of the highway, which is vital for facilitating connectivity with the Nepal border.
These infrastructure developments are expected to not only improve transportation efficiency but also stimulate economic growth in the respective regions by enhancing trade and passenger travel. The projects are part of a broader government strategy to bolster infrastructure and connectivity across India.
