Indias 1971 Initiative to Develop Sonar Leads to Revolutionary MIMO Invention for Modern Communication Technologies

Indian engineer and scientist Arogyaswami Paulraj has made significant contributions to both defense and communication technologies. His early work in the 1970s involved developing an indigenous sonar system for the Indian Navy, known as the APSOH (Array Processing Sonar for Harbour). Later, while working at Stanford University, Paulraj pioneered Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, which revolutionized wireless communications.
