PM Modi Engages with the Indian Diaspora in Tashkent

During his visit to Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Indian diaspora in Tashkent, highlighting the strengthening of ties between the two nations. The meeting served as a platform for PM Modi to reaffirm Indias commitment to fostering connections with its citizens abroad, and he addressed various issues concerning the community.

The visit comes on the heels of Uzbekistan announcing a visa-free regime for Indian nationals, effective immediately. This policy aims to enhance tourism and business exchanges between the two countries, further solidifying their diplomatic relationship.

In a cultural presentation during the state event, PM Modi recited his poem “Abhi Toh Suraj Uga Hai,” which emphasizes hope and inspiration, reflecting Indias aspirations for progress. Additionally, discussions between India and Uzbekistan are set to formalize a comprehensive strategic partnership, which would expand cooperation in various sectors, including trade, defense, and cultural exchange.

This rapprochement aligns with Indias broader strategy of strengthening ties with Central Asian nations, which are seen as pivotal both for regional stability and economic collaboration. The nations are expected to finalize strategic agreements that will further enhance mutual cooperation in critical areas.
