India Acts as Mediator During Iran-UAE Talks at BRICS Summit

In a significant diplomatic development, India is positioning itself as a peacemaker amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, as the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit. This meeting highlights India’s growing role in facilitating dialogue between two key regional players, Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The United Nations has praised the meeting between Iran and the UAE, indicating that Indias involvement as a “bridge-builder” in these discussions is a positive step towards regional cooperation. Indian President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy during her discussions with Iran’s deputy speaker, highlighting Indias commitment to peaceful conflict resolution.
