Low Pressure System Over Bay of Bengal Expected to Intensify

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings regarding an evolving low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to develop into a depression in the coming days. As a result, very heavy rainfall is anticipated in several states, particularly Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

In addition to these areas, the IMD forecasts possible heavy rains across Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, and parts of Madhya Maharashtra throughout the day. Orange and red alerts have been issued for Andhra Pradesh, signaling the potential for severe weather conditions.

Forecasters predict that heavy rainfall may persist across parts of Andhra Pradesh from September 21 to 25. The IMD has also noted that south Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh coasts should brace for very heavy rain starting this Wednesday. Local authorities are advised to remain vigilant as conditions develop.
