72nd National Film Awards: Sukumar, GV Prakash, and Venky Atluri Recognized

Renowned filmmaker Sukumar, composer GV Prakash Kumar, and director Venky Atluri were among the distinguished winners who received their National Film Awards from President Droupadi Murmu in a formal ceremony held recently.

Sukumar was honored with the award for Best Original Screenplay for his much-anticipated film “Pushpa 2,” a sequel that has garnered significant attention due to its predecessors success at the box office and critical acclaim. GV Prakash Kumar received the award for Best Music Direction for his work on “Amaran,” showcasing his talent in enhancing the films narrative through music. Venky Atluri was recognized for his direction in “Lucky Baskhar,” further solidifying his impact in the Indian film industry.

The ceremony also acknowledged several other talents, including Niharika Konidela, Nitin Zihani Choudhary, Deepali Noor, Sheetal Sharma, Anl Arasu, and Ravi Kumar, who were celebrated for their contributions in various technical categories. This year’s awards highlight the diversity and creativity present in contemporary Indian cinema, recognizing not just mainstream successes but also the critical talents that contribute behind the scenes.
