Gulbarga Tur Dal Export Initiated from Karnataka to Maldives
Gulbarga Tur Dal Set for Export to Maldives, Initiated by APEDA
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has officially launched the export of Tur Dal (pulses) from Gulbarga, Karnataka, to the Maldives. This initiative aims to enhance trade relations and address the increasing demand for high-quality pulses in the Maldivian market.
Tur Dal, known for its nutritional value and versatility in cooking, has been a staple in Indian cuisine and is gaining popularity internationally due to its protein content. The export from Karnataka is expected to not only stimulate the local economy but also create job opportunities in the agriculture and supply sectors.
Karnataka has been recognized for its rich agricultural produce, and this move aligns with the governments broader strategy to promote agricultural exports. APEDA is tasked with promoting these exports, providing support and resources for farmers to engage in global markets effectively.
As part of the initiative, quality checks and packaging processes are being implemented to ensure that the products meet international standards. This export is seen as a step toward strengthening India’s presence in the global food market, particularly in neighboring countries like the Maldives.
