In a significant initiative aimed at promoting the welfare of newborns, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has officially launched a “Gold Ring Scheme” for infants born in state-run hospitals. The scheme, which was inaugurated on October 23, 2023, provides a gold ring weighing 2 grams to every child born in government medical facilities across the state.

This program is part of a broader effort by the Tamil Nadu government to enhance maternal and child health services and support families financially.
