Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, officially launched the Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to newborns in Tamil Nadu. This initiative is designed to support families in honoring their childrens cultural heritage by offering monetary benefits upon the birth of a child.

Under this scheme, parents will receive a gold ring, symbolizing wealth and prosperity, along with a financial aid of ₹10,000, which can be used for the childs educational and health expenses.
