Union Minister States International Status of Madurai Airport Expected to Increase Tourist and Pilgrim Visits

Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu has announced the formal designation of Madurai airport as an official status airport. He stated that this development is expected to generate additional employment opportunities and significantly enhance the hospitality, MSME, and agricultural sectors in the district. Additionally, he inaugurated a new air traffic control tower at the airport, which was constructed at a cost of ₹94 crore.
