Union Minister States International Status for Madurai Airport May Increase Tourism and Pilgrimage Traffic
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu announced the formal elevation of Madurai airports status, highlighting that this decision is expected to generate additional job opportunities and significantly enhance the hospitality, MSME, and agricultural sectors in the region. During the event, he also inaugurated a new air traffic control tower, which was established at a cost of ₹94 crore.
