One Lakh Rooftop Solar Connections Reached in Southern Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 100,000 rooftop solar connections in southern Andhra Pradesh. This accomplishment reflects the states commitment to promoting renewable energy and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
Rooftop solar systems have become increasingly popular among residential and commercial users due to their ability to provide clean energy and lower electricity bills. APSPDCL has been actively encouraging the adoption of solar technology through incentives and streamlined processes for installation.
The solar initiative is part of a broader effort by the Indian government and state authorities to enhance energy sustainability. India aims to significantly increase its renewable energy capacity, targeting 175 GW by 2022, and eventually 500 GW by 2030, as outlined in its National Solar Mission.
The uptake of rooftop solar in Andhra Pradesh not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also supports local economies and job creation in the renewable energy sector. As more residents and businesses participate in this initiative, the state is expected to see further benefits in terms of energy security and economic growth.
