Government Updates PM e-DRIVE Scheme with Revised Deadlines for Electric Scooters and E-Rickshaws

The government has announced new caps on the number of registered vehicles eligible for support under the PM e-DRIVE initiative. The maximum limit has been set at 2,479,120 for electric two-wheelers and 39,034 for e-rickshaws and e-carts.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in India, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and decrease reliance on fossil fuels. Under PM e-DRIVE, the government is expected to provide various incentives to encourage consumers to choose electric options for their transportation needs.

As part of the program, stakeholders in the electric mobility sector, including manufacturers, consumers, and infrastructure companies, are encouraged to support the transition to cleaner transportation. The limits set on vehicle registrations indicate a focus on managing growth in the electric vehicle market while ensuring sustainable practices are followed.

Overall, PM e-DRIVE reflects the governments commitment to supporting the electric vehicle ecosystem, aligning with Indias broader goals for environmental sustainability and energy strategy.
