Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: 244,000 Voters Identified as Persons with Disabilities

In the recent electoral data, individuals with disabilities (PwD) account for 0.9% of the total electorate. Of the 244,927 PwD voters recorded, 137,512 are men, 107,410 are women, and five identify as transgender. This demographic representation highlights the importance of inclusivity in the voting process. Efforts to improve accessibility at polling places and enhance voter awareness among individuals with disabilities continue to be essential in promoting their participation in elections. Additionally, various organizations have been advocating for better resources to ensure that all persons with disabilities can exercise their right to vote.
