Amul Increases Prices of Butter and Ghee; Details on New Rates and Reasons Behind the Decision

Amul has announced an increase in the prices of its butter and ghee products, a move driven by rising raw material costs and market conditions. Effective immediately, the price of Amul butter has been raised by ₹5 per 500 grams, bringing the total to ₹130. Likewise, the price of ghee has also seen an increase, now set at ₹650 per kilogram, reflecting a ₹50 hike.

The company attributes this adjustment to a significant increase in the cost of milk and other associated raw materials, which has made it necessary to revise the product prices. It is important to note that this marks the first price rise in nearly a year, highlighting the pressures the dairy sector faces due to fluctuating input costs.

Amul, known for its wide range of dairy products, has committed to maintaining quality and ensuring that any price changes are communicated transparently to consumers. The brand remains a household name in India, offering products like cheese, ice cream, and yogurt, while butter and ghee constitute a substantial part of its sales.

As consumers navigate these new prices, Amul reassures its customers of their dedication to delivering high-quality products. The increase is part of a broader trend in the dairy industry, which has seen price adjustments among various brands in response to economic pressures. This price revision is seen as a necessary step to uphold the standards that consumers expect from the Amul brand.
