UPSC Implements New Requirement for Supreme Court Approval in Delays of State DGP Appointments

The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court that there is no provision enabling the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to excuse significant delays in appointments. Additionally, the Supreme Court clarified that states do not have the authority to appoint an acting Director General of Police (DGP), as this concept does not exist under current regulations.
