Supreme Court Approval Required for Delays in Appointing State DGPs, According to UPSCs New Regulation
The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court that there is no provision that allows the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to overlook significant delays in the appointment process. Additionally, the Supreme Court emphasized that states are not permitted to appoint acting Directors General of Police (DGP) as this position does not exist in that context.
