DMK Candidate List for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Released
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin have announced their candidacies for the upcoming elections, planning to run from Kolathur and Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni constituencies, respectively.
M.K. Stalin, who has been serving as Chief Minister since May 2021, represents the Kolathur constituency, which has been a stronghold for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Chief Ministers son, holds the position of Deputy Chief Minister and aims to retain his seat in the Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni constituency, also a key area for DMK.
As Tamil Nadu approaches its legislative assembly elections, scheduled for early 2024, the announcement underscores the ruling partys strategy to reinforce its leadership in these pivotal constituencies. The DMK, which has been in power since the last election, is focusing on several development initiatives and welfare programs launched during its tenure, which are likely to be central themes in the upcoming campaign.
