AAP Criticizes BJP Following Closure of Atal Canteens in Delhi Due to LPG Crisis

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed strong criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the closure of Atal Canteens in Delhi, which were forced to shut down due to a liquidity crisis affecting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies. AAP officials highlighted the “serious gaps” in the management of essential services, attributing the canteens closure to what they termed a failure of the central government to ensure a stable supply of resources.
Atal Canteens were established by the Delhi government to provide affordable meals to the underprivileged sections of society. The suspension of services at these canteens has raised concerns about the impact on food accessibility for low-income families, particularly in light of rising costs of living driven by inflation.
The LPG crisis has been linked to various factors, including supply chain disruptions and rising global gas prices, which have affected several sectors reliant on this essential resource. The AAP has demanded that the central government take immediate corrective measures to address these issues, arguing that the closure of the canteens is emblematic of wider systemic failures in governance and resource allocation.
In response, the BJP has maintained that the issues with LPG supplies are part of larger global market dynamics, emphasizing their commitment to addressing these challenges while highlighting ongoing infrastructure and supply improvements.
