Aranmula: Unique Narratives Emerge in Each Kerala Assembly Election

The constituency was established in 2008, and in the subsequent 2011 Assembly election, the United Democratic Front (UDF) secured victory. However, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) reversed the outcome in the following two Assembly elections, with Veena George representing the LDF and winning both contests. Despite the LDFs success in the Assembly elections, the UDF has maintained a competitive position in the Lok Sabha and local body elections, reflecting a dynamic political landscape in the area.

Since its formation, the constituency has become a significant battleground for both major political alliances in Kerala. The UDF, traditionally led by the Indian National Congress, and the LDF, spearheaded by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), continuously adapt their strategies, demonstrating strong grassroots engagement and responsiveness to local issues. As elections approach, both alliances are expected to intensify their campaigning efforts, aiming to consolidate their voter bases and address pressing concerns within the constituency.
