BWSSB Launches OTS Scheme, Offering Interest Waiver on Water Bill Arrears for Bengaluru Residents

As of February 2026, approximately 5.11 lakh out of nearly 11 lakh water connections in the city are currently facing outstanding dues. The total arrears accumulated by these connections amount to ₹851.33 crore, which includes ₹539.43 crore in principal amounts owed and ₹311.90 crore in accrued interest.

This situation highlights ongoing challenges related to water payment compliance among residents and businesses in the city. Authorities are likely to explore measures to enhance revenue collection and encourage timely payments, which are essential for maintaining and improving water supply services.
