China Expresses Intent to Collaborate with India on Common Interests in the Global South and BRICS
In a recent meeting held in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and outgoing Indian Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat discussed the potential for enhanced bilateral cooperation. Following their discussions, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian remarked that both nations regard each other as “development opportunities.”
This dialogue comes at a time when China and India are looking to strengthen their economic ties and address mutual challenges, including trade and regional stability. The meeting signifies an ongoing effort to improve diplomatic relations, as both countries have experienced tensions over border disputes and economic competition in recent years.
Ambassador Rawat, who has served in Beijing since 2020, is expected to transition to a new role following this meeting. The discussions highlight the importance of continued dialogue between the two countries, which are among the worlds most populous and influential nations.
