CPI Criticizes Central Government for Diminishing Rural Job Scheme and Announces Padayatra in Rayalaseema
In a recent statement, Ramakrishna highlighted significant concerns regarding the reduction in funding for regional initiatives, noting that funding has decreased from 90% to 60%. He emphasized that such a cut places an increased financial burden on the states tasked with managing these projects.
Additionally, G. Eswaraiah brought attention to the ongoing neglect of irrigation projects in the Rayalaseema region. He called for a substantial allocation of ₹32,000 crore to support the Polavaram irrigation project, which is critical for enhancing agricultural productivity and addressing water scarcity in the area.
The Polavaram project is designed to provide irrigation and drinking water to several districts in Andhra Pradesh. Despite its importance, the project has faced funding and execution challenges over the years. Local leaders like Eswaraiah continue to advocate for increased financial support to ensure that these vital infrastructure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
