Dairy Farmers Express Concerns Regarding Insufficient Focus on Key Issues

In its recently released manifesto, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has pledged to increase the procurement price for agricultural produce by ₹5 per liter. This commitment aims to bolster the financial stability of farmers and enhance their livelihood. Meanwhile, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), and the Tamilaga Vivasayigal Katchi (TVK) have not yet articulated their stance on this key agricultural issue. M.G. Rajendran highlighted this disparity, indicating a potential gap in farmers support from these parties.

The procurement price, which is a crucial aspect of agricultural policy, directly influences farmers income and can affect crop production decisions. Several states in India have faced challenges regarding fair pricing, prompting political parties to address these concerns in their electoral platforms. As the election approaches, it remains vital for all political entities to clarify their positions on farmer welfare to assist constituents in making informed decisions.
