Election Officials Recover 53 Panchaloha Idols and Unreported Cash in Vellore and Surrounding Areas

As part of the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, authorities conducted vehicle checks across various locations in the state.

These checks aim to ensure compliance with election regulations and to prevent the misuse of vehicles for campaigning and transportation of voters. The Model Code of Conduct, which was established to promote fair and free elections, outlines guidelines for political parties and candidates during the election period.

In Tamil Nadu, the Election Commission of India is actively monitoring activities to maintain electoral integrity, including random checks and surveillance measures. The checks may include verifying the presence of necessary permits for campaign vehicles and ensuring that there are no violations related to the distribution of cash or goods intended for electoral influence.

In addition, authorities are educating voters on their rights during the election period and the importance of participating in a fair electoral process. As the elections approach, similar measures are expected to intensify to uphold the democratic principles of the electoral process.
